In furtherance of its enduring mission to advance education and create knowledge through excellence in teaching, research, innovation, public service, intellectual leadership and outreach in order to support the inclusive (social, economic, political, cultural, environmental) development of the Caribbean region and beyond, the UWI Mona is pleased to invite applicants for the post of Medical Officer.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from a University recognised by the Medical Council of Jamaica;
  • Must have been registered to practice medicine for at least three years in Jamaica;
  • Post graduate training in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Public Health would be an asset.

 

Duties

  • To provide daily face to face clinical consultations with clients who present to the facility for care;
  • To refer as indicated all clients in need of tertiary care;
  • To maintain  accurate clinical records to facilitate good clinical management of patients and research;
    To participate in clinical research and to publish articles in peer-reviewed journals;
  • To participate in CME activities facilitated by the organization;
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director, University Health Centre.
